Catriona Macallan

Catriona is a corporate partner in our Energy Team. She specialises in advising clients on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, investments and joint ventures.

With a particular focus on advising clients in the renewable energy sector, extensive expertise in private equity transactions, and a detailed knowledge of the application of the National Security and Investment Act 2021, Catriona provides tailored and practical advice to help clients navigate often complex transaction processes from inception to completion. She also leads our internal Energy Division.

Catriona originally trained and worked at Clifford Chance in London and Paris, advising domestic and international clients on complex, high-profile cross-border M&A transactions and other corporate matters.

Catriona also leads our China Desk and is a proficient Mandarin speaker, having lived and worked in both China and Japan. She also holds a Masters degree in East Asian studies. Drawing on this experience and her work with Chinese clients, Catriona has a keen understanding of the particular issues and considerations which affect both companies based in that part of the world, and those wishing to do business with them.
