Practice Areas
I practice environmental law. For more than 25 years, I have worked on transactions, cleanups, litigation, and compliance involving all kinds of current and former property uses, including manufacturing, storage and medical facilities, gas stations, dry cleaners, renewable energy projects (wind and solar), mill sites, agricultural land, landfills (and former landfills), mixed-use and housing projects (including affordable housing), and forestlands.

Personal
I moved from Southern California to Oregon in the 1980s to go to the University of Oregon. I received both my undergraduate and law degrees from U of O. Go Ducks. In law school, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review. Out of law school, I learned the art of trial craft as a trial court clerk and criminal defense lawyer. I then joined Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, PC where I spent more than 25 years of practicing environmental law both as a litigator and a transaction lawyer.
At Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, I came to love the challenge and satisfaction of helping clients balance risk and opportunity in working with contaminated properties and Brownfields. In 2024, I opened the Law Office of Carson Bowler to focus intentionally on serving my clients and the community.
Outside the office, I have been blissfully married for more than 27 years and my wife and I have two wonderful sons. I also enjoy old dogs, young humans, easy hikes, crows, golfing poorly, running slowly, riding my motorcycle short distances, and throwing starfish back into the ocean.
