Camilo is an expert in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, with a strong focus on private equity and venture capital.
He previously served as Legal Counsel to the Legal Vice Presidency of Bancolombia, Corporate Secretary of Bancolombia Investment Banking, and Corporate Legal Director of Grupo Orbis (now AkzoNobel in Colombia).
In the private equity and venture capital, he has advised investment funds, private investor groups, fund managers, and leading corporate venture capital programs in Colombia on the formation of investment vehicles, financing structures, investment and exit strategies, and legal frameworks for engagement with startups. He also advises high-growth startups throughout their funding journey, from early-stage rounds to regional expansion.
His M&A experience includes numerous local and cross-border buy- and sell-side transactions across industries such as technology, energy, financial services, healthcare, and retail.
Camilo’s corporate law practice is recognized for its practical and rigorous approach to regulatory compliance, corporate governance best practices, and shareholder and corporate disputes.
He is also an arbitrator at the Center for Conciliation, Arbitration and Amicable Composition of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, listed as a specialist in corporate law.
