Camilo Merino

amilo is an expert in corporate law and M&A.

He focuses his practice on advising clients on matters related to the incorporation and operation of companies in Colombia, including corporate governance issues, conflicts of interest, directors’ liability regime, shareholders’ agreements, mergers, spin-offs, liquidation processes, and is particularly active in advising on shareholder disputes.

He has participated in numerous local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. His experience includes advising both domestic and international clients such as GoDaddy, Essity – Grupo Familia, SURA, EPM, Bancolombia, among others.

He also has extensive experience in venture capital transactions, having advised private equity funds, groups of private investors, fund managers, and the main corporate venture capital programs in the country.

Camilo has served as in-house counsel for Bancolombia’s Legal Vice Presidency, Corporate Secretary of Bancolombia Investment Banking, and Corporate Legal Director of AkzoNobel in Colombia.

He is an arbitrator at the Center for Conciliation, Arbitration, and Amicable Composition of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, listed among the arbitrators specialized in corporate law.
