Calvin Tan

Calvin is the Head of our Singapore office and he specialises in cross border structured lending, spanning general banking & finance, commodity & trade finance, funds finance, project finance, real estate finance and acquisition finance, providing English law as well as Singapore law advice.

He has significant experience advising both lenders and borrowers in relation to complex financing transactions, involving jurisdictions such as China, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, the Middle East, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Cameroon.

Complementing his transactional banking practice, Calvin leads a full-service banking team that provides banking & lending regulatory advice (including regulatory capital advice), secondary debt trading and loan distribution, as well as pre-litigation and restructuring & insolvency advice.

Calvin is a ranked practitioner in Chambers and has been described by a client as a lawyer who provides "innovative solutions to perceived obstacles while being swift, responsive and clear in his advice”. He is admitted in Singapore, England and Wales and New South Wales.
