Bruce is a distinguished tax litigator and commercial disputes expert with over a decade of experience handling some of Uganda’s most high-profile and complex tax and financial litigation matters. He has acted as lead counsel in landmark tax disputes, including representing a leading international oil company in a USD 400 million capital gains tax matter — one of the largest tax disputes in Uganda's history.
With a deep understanding of tax planning and cross-border tax structures, Bruce has advised numerous multinational corporations on internal tax risk management and regulatory compliance. His international exposure, gained through practice with PwC (USA) and JP Morgan in the United States over five years, gives him an exceptional grasp of comparative tax regimes and multi-jurisdictional tax issues.
Bruce also plays a pivotal role in the firm’s banking and finance practice. For more than 9 years, he has represented leading financial institutions in a wide range of matters, including insolvency litigation, regulatory compliance under the Financial Institutions Act, and high-value loan recoveries. He was a core member of the litigation team in one of Uganda’s largest banking disputes worth over USD 120 million, involving complex issues of insolvency, loan documentation, and banking regulation.
As engagement partner to six leading banks and financial institutions, Bruce has recovered over USD 20 million in the past two years alone and is currently managing recovery matters valued at over USD 18 million. He also recently advised on a high-stakes financial litigation matter valued at over USD 100 million.

Work Highlights
Represented a leading mobile telecommunications company, in a UGX 320 billion dispute against the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) arising from corporation tax, Value Added Tax (VAT) and excise duty assessments.
Represented a leading oil company in a capital gains dispute worth USD 490 million dollar tax dispute against the URA. He has also worked with another leading oil company and was involved in its UGX 2 billion shilling dispute with the URA.
Part of the team that handled a leading telecommunications company’s UGX 100 billion shilling tax dispute against URA.
Offers tax advisory services to various companies in the in a cross section of sectors including CNOOC, Total Uganda Ltd, Tullow Oil, UMEME, Bujagali Energy Limited, Standard Chartered (U) Limited (SCB), Multichoice (U) Ltd, among others.
Represented the Uganda National Roads Authority in several infrastructure project disputes.

Successfully represented Standard Chartered Bank in a lawsuit worth UGX 2.3 billion. Successfully challenged a number of applications made by a fuel distribution company against Standard Chartered Bank regarding a loan of USD 9.1 million
