He has acted as lead counsel in landmark tax disputes, including representing a leading international oil company in a USD 400 million capital gains tax matter — one of the largest tax disputes in Uganda's history.
With a deep understanding of tax planning and cross-border tax structures, Bruce has advised numerous multinational corporations on internal tax risk management and regulatory compliance. His international exposure, gained through practice with PwC (USA) and JP Morgan in the United States over five years, gives him an exceptional grasp of comparative tax regimes and multi-jurisdictional tax issues.
Bruce also plays a pivotal role in the firm’s banking and finance practice. For more than 9 years, he has represented leading financial institutions in a wide range of matters, including insolvency litigation, regulatory compliance under the Financial Institutions Act, and high-value loan recoveries. He was a core member of the litigation team in one of Uganda’s largest banking disputes worth over USD 120 million, involving complex issues of insolvency, loan documentation, and banking regulation.
As engagement partner to six leading banks and financial institutions, Bruce has recovered over USD 20 million in the past two years alone and is currently managing recovery matters valued at over USD 18 million. He also recently advised on a high-stakes financial litigation matter valued at over USD 100 million.
