Brad Roach is a Partner and Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s global Oil and Gas Practice Group and has been based in Singapore for over 25 years. He is recognised for his extensive industry knowledge of the upstream and downstream industry in Southeast Asia and his negotiation skills. He has a market-leading M&A practice and has advised on transactions with an aggregate value of over US$10 billion. He is currently advising the sponsors of the largest offshore CCS project in Malaysia and has particular expertise advising on carbon offsets, LNG sale and purchase agreements, gas sales agreements and production sharing contracts.

In 2023, he advised Chevron New Energies on its joint venture arrangements with PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk. in relation to the Way Ratai geothermal area in Indonesia. He advised Murphy Oil on the US$2.127 billion divestment of its Malaysian operations to PTTEP, which is the largest upstream M&A transaction in Southeast Asia in the past eight years.
