Barbara van Hussen acts on behalf of large and medium-sized companies, family businesses, private equity investors and venture capital parties in mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and general corporate issues. She has gained substantial experience in advising complicated transactions as well as distressed transactions both on a content level and on a project level. Creativity and bringing together the interests of all stakeholders is one of her key strengths. Barbara is a strategic thinker, is able to quickly get to the heart of the matter and is down to earth. She is able to get deadlocked situations back on track. She is very pragmatic and speaks the language of the business.
Admitted to the bar in 1996. She has 22 years’ experience as a partner at DLA Piper for which she also served in the International Executive Board. Besides her M&A practice, Barbara has several board roles both as a non-executive as well as an executive member. She also serves as board member appointed by the Enterprise Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam.
