Bas is an all-round M&A lawyer with extensive experience in (international) mergers and acquisitions. He specialises in (mid-market) private equity and venture capital transactions. He also uses his extensive experience with professional investors to assist corporates, entrepreneurs and founders in their dealings with investors. Bas enjoys working with his clients in an efficient and pragmatic way, looking beyond the legal aspects of transactions.
In recent years, Bas has assisted several private equity investors in their buy & build transactions and has been involved in many (international) auction sales and financing rounds.
Career
Bas holds a law degree from the University of Groningen and has also studied Corporate Finance (Harvard). Bas was a lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for more than 10 years from 2006 and then co-founder and partner of Vriman M&A Lawyers before joining Rutgers & Posch in 2022.
