Anthony Shelley

Litigates employee benefits, health care, and pension issues before federal courts, including litigation involving ERISA and FEHBA.

Defends companies and plans in class actions and individual suits concerning challenges to benefits denials, exclusions from coverage, eligibility, fiduciary duties, and subrogation and reimbursement matters. Deals frequently with issues of federal jurisdiction and the preemption of state law. Represents entities and classes of individuals aggrieved by plan terminations before and against the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. Has argued before the US Supreme Court. Served as firm Chair from 2011 – 2017.
