Practice Areas
Anna advises clients running defined benefit occupational pension schemes.
Her current focus is on end-game planning for a smooth journey to winding-up, whether on the near or far horizon. This encompasses holistic ‘reality checks’ on benefit structure, benefit specifications, documentation exercises, and liability management including GMP conversion, insurance risk transfer and other forms of settlement and trustee protection. She has experience with bulk purchase annuity transactions and remedial action on a ‘self-help’ basis. Regarding assets, Anna deals with funding and security negotiations, including contingent assets and funding agreements. Anna advises DB schemes of all sizes on these issues, as well as ongoing compliance, governance, risk management and strategic planning. She increasingly acts for SME-sponsored schemes looking for proactive legal support to help bridge the funding gap to buyout.
Anna has advised clients through all the significant legal and regulatory pensions developments unfolding over time and has experience with many scheme mergers, demergers, and the pensions aspects of UK and international corporate transactions.
