Career

Adv. Andrey Nickel is a highly regarded competition and antitrust lawyer, with substantial experience advising leading domestic and international clients on the full spectrum of antitrust and competition matters. His practice encompasses restrictive trade practices, merger control, abuse of dominant position, and complex regulatory issues arising under sector-specific competition legislation, including the Law for Promoting Competition in the Food Sector and the Law for Promotion of Competition and Reduction of Concentration.

Andrey is particularly valued for his ability to provide sophisticated, business-oriented advice on some of the most intricate and sensitive competition issues in the Israeli market. He is widely recognized for delivering tailor-made solutions to major corporations navigating the far-reaching implications of the Law for Promotion of Competition and Reduction of Concentration - a groundbreaking and globally distinctive legislative framework that imposes separation requirements between significant non-financial corporations and financial institutions, and introduces competition-related considerations into public tender and licensing processes.

A key strength of Andrey's practice lies in his exceptional litigation experience before the Competition Tribunal, the specialist judicial forum responsible for reviewing decisions of the Israel Competition Authority. He has been involved in some of the most significant and complex proceedings in this field, including merger cases, monopoly and abuse of dominance matters, and precedent-setting oligopoly litigation.

Prior to joining KRB, Andrey served in the legal department of the Israel Competition Authority, where he headed the team responsible for the food and agriculture sectors. In that role, he led legal work on a number of high-profile enforcement and regulatory matters, managed major litigation before the Competition Tribunal, and played an active role in the Authority's advocacy efforts.

In addition, Andrey served as a board member of the Foundation for Financing Class Actions at the Ministry of Justice and acted as the Israel Competition Authority's focal point for private enforcement of antitrust and competition law.
