Andrew Cotton specialises in cross-border M&A and corporate and commercial law advising clients in a diverse range of sectors but with a particular focus on technology and energy & infrastructure transactions and projects. He has significant experience of advising specialist funds and sponsors on the acquisition, financing and execution of renewable energy projects and portfolios and recent experience of assisting Finnish clients on acquiring and administering energy projects across Europe and the Middle East. He also has good experience of advising on regulated infrastructure transactions.
From an early point in the use of warranty & indemnity insurance in Finnish transactions, Andrew has been particularly active in advising international insurers on the underwriting of warranty & indemnity insurance in respect of Finnish transactions and as a result is one of the leading lawyers advising on W&I insurance in the Finnish market. Andrew has been a qualified Finnish attorney-at-law since 2009 and is also a qualified non-practising English solicitor, having practiced in London prior to moving to Helsinki. As a result Andrew is well-placed to assist international clients navigate the legal and cultural nuances of executing Finnish transactions and projects.
