Amie Vanover

Amie is a partner in the firm’s Personal & Succession Planning practice. She provides guidance on estate and tax planning, including assisting individuals and businesses with philanthropic planning, advising tax-exempt organizations on a broad range of operational and tax matters, and counseling individuals and families on estate and trust planning and administration. She received her Estate Planning Certificate of Completion from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. The certificate demonstrates her in-depth study of estate planning and administration, including estate tax returns, post-death tax plans, trusts, contested proceedings, and other areas.

Amie is a Fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and she serves on the Ohio State Bar Association Council for the Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law Section. Amie has also been selected to the Ohio Super Lawyers® list for estate planning and probate, listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Nonprofit/Charities Law and Trusts and Estates, and named a Top Columbus Lawyer and a Best Lawyer by Columbus CEO. She has been named Best Lawyers® Nonprofit/Charities Law 2021, 2023, and 2025 “Lawyer of the Year” in Columbus. In addition, Amie is a graduate of Leadership Columbus, and she received the “Most Powerful & Influential Woman Award” from the Ohio Diversity Council.

Amie frequently speaks on a variety of topics relating to her practice. She has presented at the Marvin R. Pliskin Advanced Probate and Estate Planning Seminar, the Annual Midwest/Midsouth Estate Planning Institute, The Ohio Society of CPAs Not-For-Profit Conference, and before many other professional groups, including the Charitable Gift Planners of Central Ohio, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, The Columbus Foundation Professional Council, and the Ohio Attorney General Charitable Advisory Council.
