Alice Sims

Recognised specialist in construction, engineering, and utilities disputes along with professional negligence, regulatory and insurance claims related to these sectors. Alice has particular expertise in energy-related construction and commercial disputes (onshore and offshore) and has acted for clients in a wide range of litigation concerning renewables, nuclear, oil and gas projects. She also regularly acts in cases relating to the sale and supply of chemicals and the construction of chemical processing plants. She appears in domestic and international arbitrations as well as the High Court. Alice also undertakes all aspects of ADR including representations to adjudicators and enforcement proceedings. She accepts appointments as a mediator (she is TECBAR accredited) and also accepts instructions on a public access, licensed access and pro bono basis. Recent work includes a multi-million pound international arbitration about the construction of an offshore wind-farm, litigation concerning defects at the Olympic Village, a multi-million dollar international arbitration concerning the construction of a gas fired power plant in Trinidad, a multi-million pound international arbitration about the construction of commercial buildings in downtown Moscow and a number of TCC disputes about architects’ negligence.
