Alejandro Abuyeres

Practice Areas

Mr. Abuyeres is in charge of the tax area, advising domestic and foreign clients in all types of tax matters. His practice focuses on defending clients before various administrative entities, including the Internal Revenue Service, Treasury, and municipalities. He also provides judicial defense before tax and customs courts, courts of appeals, and the Supreme Court.

In addition, Mr. Abuyeres has broad experience in tax reorganizations including corporations and high-net-worth individuals. He also provides tax consulting for relevant companies groups, including advise on local and international taxation, and accounting and financial matters.

Career

Mr. Abuyeres is a partner of Barona Marshall, advising domestic and foreign clients in all types of tax matters, including consulting, litigation and dispute resolution. He has extensive experience in litigation and relevant cases of high complexity with a deep knowledge in accounting and financial matters.

Mr. Abuyeres is a lawyer graduated from the Law School of the Universidad de Chile. He is a candidate for a Master's Degree in Law with mention in Tax Law from the Universidad de Chile Law School.

Since 2020 he has been a professor of Tax Law, International Taxation and Taxation of Contracts and Accounting, being a member of the undergraduate and graduate faculty of the Universidad de Chile Law School. He is also academic coordinator and professor in several Postgraduate Diplomas of the Law School of the Universidad de Chile and is visiting professor of the Master in Tax Law of the Universidad de Concepción.
