Adelaide is a partner in the litigation team. She represents clients across Wiggin’s key sectors in a broad spectrum of disputes, from breach of contract to breach of confidence, specialising in claims arising in defamation, privacy, data protection and copyright.
“I advise news and book publishers; film and TV producers; studios; broadcasters; podcasters; and content producers of all kinds on issues relating to the production and distribution of content. My practice involves the resolution of existing disputes, as well as advising clients at the early stage of development and up to release/publication of their works to assess their risk and limit the issues that may arise.
After spending nearly 10 years working in the film industry before becoming a lawyer – first in production in the U.K. and then in L.A. for Sony Pictures Entertainment and United Artists/MGM – I have first-hand experience of many of the issues raised by our clients when they come to me for advice. Since joining Wiggin in 2013, I have also benefitted from being involved in cases shaping the media sector, including Banner v Endemol Shine (one of the very few cases on format rights) and Martin v Kogan (the leading case on joint authorship).
I am dual qualified to practice in New York (2013) and England and Wales (2015).”
