About

Provided by Wiggin LLP

The original defendant practice, we fight tooth and nail for media clients and their right to freedom of expression.

Our team advises the nation’s most prominent media, news and content companies, publishers, advertisers, television broadcasters, film studios and radio stations. Where there are reputational issues or important points of principle at stake, our clients know to rely on our determination and robust style of litigation.

Our highly experienced lawyers have successfully litigated many of the ground-breaking defamation and privacy claims of recent years, but clients most value our ability to get to the core of the issue and stop complaints ever becoming claims in the first place.

Broadcasters and publishers operate in a global market and we regularly advise our media clients on claims involving multiple jurisdictions and we work with preferred local lawyers in the US and globally.

The team offers content clearance advice to all media clients including libel reads for book publishers and magazines, script reviews and clearance work for film producers and radio and television broadcasters. We also advise clients on regulatory matters involving Ofcom and the ASA and proceedings under the BCAP, CAP and Editors’ codes of conduct.
