Hap Shashy specializes in tax matters. As a partner and group leader of the Tax practice, Hap advises clients in a number of industries on a wide variety of tax planning and tax controversy issues. He is a former IRS Chief Counsel and represents domestic and foreign clients in a wide range of complex tax planning, tax regulatory and tax controversy matters.

Mr. Shashy's tax planning matters include domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and joint ventures, and financing transactions, as well as leasing and licensing transactions, natural resources and commodities transactions, and bankruptcy and debt restructurings.
