Recent highlights include advising on hydroelectric and motorway projects in Eastern Europe, a PPP hospital development in Asia, and a sports stadium in the Middle East. The Firm deals with significant real estate projects in the Italian market, advising major global contractors on a wide range of complex construction and development projects and has specialist experience in development of shopping centres, business premises, residential property and sports facilities, especially if connected to drafting international construction contracts (FIDIC, JCT and ICE). Trade Compliance: An acknowledged leader in the field of international trade, the Firm handles an extensive range of customs, export, sanctions and military control matters. This includes advising on third parties screening, product classification, drafting internal policies for global businesses as well as criminal and administrative proceedings arising out of customs and export rules violations. Recent highlights include advising one of Italy’s largest banks on compliance policy in connection with economic sanctions, EU and US law; advising an Italian manufacturing company on commercial relationship with a Russian company listed by the US authorities; assisting an Italian company trading domestic water heaters, on compliance matters concerning business operations with Iran and Russia; assisting an Italian company designing and producing industrial machines, in the identification of dual use items; drafting and implementing an internal compliance policy for an Italian plumps manufacturer; advising an Italian manufacturing company on Law 185/1990.

Corporate & M&A: The Firm has a particularly strong expertise in the areas of domestic and cross-border M&A, corporate finance and commercial law. Our activities include advising on significant corporate matters (business transfer agreements, share sales and purchases, joint venture arrangements). Litigation & Arbitration: The Firm has a strong expertise in domestic and international commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation. The team regularly represents clients in complex proceedings before the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution and all courts of Italian judicial system, including claims under article 700 of the Code of Civil Procedure (urgent measure proceedings). Banking & Finance: Deep knowledge of construction financing, first demand bank guarantees (with emphasis on performance and advance payment bonds) and export-finance related negotiations with banks, including those related to buyer credit and shipping transactions is our advantage in export credit matters. Recent highlights include interbank operations, such as syndicated loans and related security arrangements, asset-based lending, refinancing, leasing, factoring and asset-backed/securitisation transactions involving multilateral banks. Dealing with a significant number of securities transactions and assistance with all contractual, corporate and regulatory matters connected with issuance and placement of shares, bonds and warrants, including EMTN programs, constitutes our day-to-day practice.
