The partnership has several unique distinctions – a majority of the partners are dual-qualified, have worked in more than one jurisdiction – and celebrating diversity is fundamental to the meaning and spirit of Samvad. Samvad coalesced from a merger of regional practices in Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai and expanded to a full-service corporate law firm, with offices in Delhi and Hyderabad. The firm has grown steadily over the years to 100 lawyers and staff who are committed to providing innovative legal advice. Main Areas of Practice:

Banking & Finance:

Samvad regularly handles complex financing transactions for both lenders and borrowers with a special focus on project and structured finance and cross-border financing. The firm counts many leading banks, developers, financiers and investors as its clients.

Competition Law:
Samvad’s offering includes combination and anti trust advisory and filings; and anti trust litigation at the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the Competition Appellate Tribunal and the Supreme Court. The firm is involved in seminal cases in this rapidly evolving area.

Dispute Resolution (Mediation, Arbitration, Litigation):
The firm specialises in corporate and commercial disputes including competition and insolvency matters. And also, providing a range of services including pre-litigation strategy, interim relief processes, settlement negotiation assistance, representation in regional and domestic arbitrations and arbitral award enforcement.

Human Resources & Employment:
The practice is centred on statutory compliance advice, structuring agreements (including employment, termination and exit settlement agreements) and appearing before courts and tribunals. Samvad specialises in employee misconduct issues (including harassment and differential treatment).

Insolvency & Restructuring:

Represents creditors and debtors in insolvency proceedings, advice on structuring and executing out-of-court and corporate restructurings, distressed M&A sales and provides general advice on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Its insolvency practice is complemented by a strong banking and finance practice.

Intellectual Property:

The firm advises global and Indian funds and portfolio companies (ranging from start-ups to mature companies) through all stages of the fund formation, fund raising, angel investments, seed rounds to growth/late stage investments and exits. Its fund formation practice includes structuring and setting up alternate investment funds and INVITs.

Real Estate:
