Main Areas of Practice:

Family Law:
Laurus’ family team takes an unparalleled approach to managing matters relating to matrimony, children and finances. All fee earners are committed to bringing outcomes to their clients which are favorable both financially and personally. This includes a strong offering in Dispute Resolution - the team includes two accredited mediators as well as all fee-earners holding active memberships with industry bodies such as Resolution and the Family Mediation Council. The partners handle all areas of family law, with a particular focus on cases involving complex financial matters, as well as international elements such as child abduction cases and international surrogacy. They also regularly advise on pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements for their high net worth client base.

Property Law:
With experience in all levels of property and conveyancing law, Laurus is able to match real estate clients’ needs to an expert solicitor in every case. This includes commercial property clients, including corporate occupiers, multi-tier investments and development deals. The team are able to advise on everything from first-time buyers and new homes, to complex land acquisitions with ease. Their foremost aim is to make the process as simple as possible for their client - delivering the right results in a timely fashion, no matter how complex their transaction.

Private Client:
Laurus’ Legacy team covers all areas of Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts and Inheritance Tax matters. They have a particular focus on ensuring Laurus’ clients legal protection is kept up to date in step with life changes that may be taking place in collaboration with our Family and Property teams. Led by Partner Abi Bird, the team has a particular specialism in Estate and Trust Planning for business owners, with a focus on tax planning and complex business succession requirements.
