In the last five years Freshfields has advised on more crossborder M&A deals than any other law firm in the world. It advised on more M&A than any other magic circle firm this year to date (September 2015) – 151 deals with a value of over $375bn globally. It also topped the European, Asia-Pacific and UK league tables in the same period. Freshfields is also a tier 1 legal adviser for ECM. ■Advising DEMB on global employment and pension law aspects of its joint venture with Mondelez International creating one of the largest coffee companies with annual revenues of US$7bn
■Advising a leading investment bank on the global disciplinary process in relation to an ongoing investigation into market-wide manipulation allegations and improper conduct by FX traders in connection with benchmark FX rates. We assisted on the implementation of global disciplinary and performance management principles and on appropriate termination and settlement arrangements, while advising on global data protection issues arising from multi-jurisdictional data transfers
