Britton & Iglesias (BRIG) was founded in 2015 with the strategic alliance of two renowned attorneys, Eric Britton and Humberto Iglesias. BRIG’s multidisciplinary team provides counseling in all legal areas, with a special emphasis on Commercial Litigation and Arbitration, both nationally and internationally; Construction Law, Insolvency Proceedings and Reorganizations; Real Estate Law, and Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law.

Experience:
The team of professionals has advised and represented recognized national and foreign companies in the construction, insurance, banking, energy, agriculture and telecommunications sectors, among others, on contractual matters of Mergers and Acquisitions, and has participated in the structuring of commercial bank loans for the development of large-scale construction projects, and in the financing of investment for the acquisition of companies in Panama. They advise on credit structures, real estate operations, purchase and sale of businesses, asset management, trust fund structuring, private interest foundations, and limited liability partnerships, among others. Also provides counseling to foreign clients regarding how to best establish their investments in Panama, in terms of drafting, negotiating, reviewing contracts and agreements for different commercial sectors, and immigration issues.

They served as legal counsels and arbitrators in multiple mediation processes based on the rules set by Arbitration centers such as the centers of the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, the Panamanian Chamber of Construction, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), UNCITRAL, and CIADI. Also advise transnational companies in the execution of State contracts and represent multiple companies both in judicial litigation and insolvency proceedings, reorganizations and settlements, as well as in national and international arbitration. Their experts are also requested as members of Dispute Boards.

The firm and lawyers are active members of the main professional local associations, playing an important role in Panama’s current legal and economic affairs, including The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – Panama Chapter; The Society of Construction Law, founders of the Panamanian Association of Construction Law, the Insolvency Commission of the Panama Bar Association, the Center for Conflict Resolution (CESCON), among others.
