Fraud & Asset Recovery:
The firm has unparalleled experience in bringing and defending major international fraud claims and asset recovery actions before the Jersey courts. The firm acts for foreign governments, NGOs, multinational corporations and private individuals in some of the most complex and high-value political corruption, forfeiture and judgment enforcement actions, including asset tracing claims; confiscation proceedings; freezing injunctions; disclosure orders; search and seize orders; civil fraud claims; and fraudulent breach of trust claims.
Trusts Disputes:
We have worked on some of the highest profile trust disputes in the jurisdictions we operate in. We are well practised in navigating multiple parties towards a resolution. We represent beneficiaries and trustees.
Commercial & Civil Disputes:
We specialise in obtaining targeted injunctions to obtain information and to freeze assets in support of claims. With significant experience in working on multi-jurisdictional cases, the team provides bespoke strategic advice tailored to each client’s needs. We act for both overseas and local businesses, financial institutions and individuals in a range of commercial actions. These include breach of contract/covenant disputes, breach of trust actions, professional negligence, company law claims and shareholder actions.
Regulatory Legal:
We are regularly instructed by regulators, financial institutions and private individuals to advise and act in an array of often highly complex and challenging situations.We have acted for regulators and the prosecution, as well as for individuals and financial businesses. We know our way around the thicket of regulatory provisions, and can ensure you the best outcome. We have had success in persuading institutions to unfreeze funds, by presenting evidence of the legitimacy of the funds.
Insolvency
We are regularly instructed by and work closely with leading domestic and international insolvency practitioners, law firms, financial institutions, governments and government agencies, corporations and other stakeholders in high-profile insolvency matters.
