Poul Schmith has acted as key counsel to the Danish state for more than 80 years and advises various central government authorities publicly held enterprises/companies. The team combines this unmatched public sector and regulatory capacity with deep industry and commercial insight and also represent many Danish and foreign companies.

The team has an exceptional track record in competition matters and has been involved in almost all major cases before the Danish courts in the last 15 years. This includes vertical and horizontal agreements, abuse of dominance and “gun jumping”. The team also has vast experience in negotiating damages claims and merger control.

Poul Schmith stands out for its public procurement expertise and are frequently instructed in the largest and most complex projects in the market. The team represents clients in more cases before the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement than any other firm. 

Poul Schmith also has unmatched experience within the field of state aid. In recent years, the team has been involved in all major state aid cases and frequently assists clients in dealings with the European Commission.

The team has significant experience in cases regarding international law and general EU-law and regularly represents clients before the European Court of Justice.
