The Corporate/M&A department at Ágora Abogados advises domestic and international clients on corporate transactions and strategic matters globally. The team regularly assists with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, shareholder arrangements and general corporate advisory work, providing practical and business-focused advice in complex economic and regulatory environments.

The department is composed of two partners and a multidisciplinary team of senior and mid-level associates with experience in corporate structuring and M&A transactions. The practice is co-led by María Eugenia Reyes and Álvaro Posada, who remain closely involved throughout matters, from structuring and negotiation to implementation.

The team works in close coordination with the firm’s tax, banking and finance, regulatory and litigation practices, and is experienced in handling multi-jurisdictional matters involving leading law firms across Europe, the Americas and offshore jurisdictions.

The department advises clients across a range of sectors, including agribusiness, TMT and media, infrastructure, consumer goods and real estate. It is recognised for delivering coordinated and commercially sound solutions, with a hands-on, partner-led approach and a strong understanding of the Venezuelan market.
