The Corporate/M&A department at Ágora Abogados advises multinational corporations, investors and domestic clients on complex corporate transactions and strategic matters involving Venezuela and cross-border elements. The team regularly assists with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, shareholder arrangements and ongoing corporate advisory work, providing pragmatic, business-focused advice in challenging economic and regulatory environments.
The department is composed of two partners and a multidisciplinary team of senior and mid-level associates with solid experience in corporate structuring and M&A transactions. The practice is co-led by María Eugenia Reyes and Álvaro Posada, who maintain close partner involvement throughout all stages of a matter, from transaction structuring and negotiation to execution and post-closing implementation.
The team works in close coordination with the firm’s Tax, Banking & Finance and Regulatory practices, and is experienced in acting as local counsel on multi-jurisdictional transactions alongside leading international and regional law firms across Europe, the Americas and offshore jurisdictions.
