I'm Mateus Monteiro, Head of Brazil Research. I started at Chambers in October 2021, where I have worked both as Research Analyst and Research Manager covering Brazil and its various practice areas.
My knowledge of the Brazilian market draws from my previous experience as a lawyer in Brazil, both in private practice and in-house in an energy company, with a particular focus on Tax and Intellectual Property.
My role at Chambers comprehends, above all, leading our research team and ensuring that our ranks best reflect the Brazilian legal market. Therefore, we are constantly developing our guides, identifying the most relevant practice areas and the greatest talents in the market always in an independent and trustworthy way.

I am the Chambers Brazil Research Manager. I am qualified lawyer in São Paulo, I have a specialization in International Relations and an LLM in Public International Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
As Research Analyst I was responsible for the launch of some of the guide's new rankings, such as ESG, Crisis Management and Education. As Research Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the Brazil guide research, assuring the collection of substantial and qualitative data, and reaching precise results that accurately depict the Brazilian legal market.
I am also constantly looking for opportunities to expand our guide, developing further ranking opportunities for the recognition of lawyers and firms that provide high-end services.
