The firm was established in 1988 under the name Ortiz Abogados, S.C.; afterwards changed its name to Ortiz, Sainz y Tron, S.C. and then to Ortiz, Sainz y Erreguerena, S.C. In 2016 the firm adopted its current name Ortiz Abogados Tributarios, S.C.

MAIN AREAS OF PRACTICE: 

Tax Controversy / Litigation:
The firm’s tax controversy and litigation practice consists in defending its clients against tax credit assessments and resolutions opposing their interests issued by the tax authorities. Such resolutions include refusals to refund any amount that belongs to them or other determinations that harm taxpayers’ interests.

These defense mechanisms are carried out through administrative remedies before the authority, annulment complaints before the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, procedures before Courts for Administrative Justice of the States of the Mexican Republic, as well as legal remedies performed before the different branches of the Federal Judicial Power.

Our litigation and controversy services comprehend federal, state and municipal taxes, including customs duties.

Consultancy:
The firm counsels natural or legal entities regarding local, federal, and international tax consequences of their day to day operations, carried out between independent or related parties, both in domestic and cross-border transactions, special tax regimes, funding provisions and financial activities.

The firm also provides consulting services regarding the entities’ operations and strategic transactions, such as mergers, spin-offs, corporate restructures, acquisitions, public and private bids or joint ventures.
