Offices

Mori Hamada has offices in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Takamatsu, Sapporo and Yokohama in addition to its Tokyo headquarters. The firm has very strong full-service local law practices in Bangkok (Chandler Mori Hamada Limited) and Yangon (Myanmar Legal Mori Hamada Limited) and it is expanding its range of local law services in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Jakarta (ATD Law in association with Mori Hamada) and Manila (Tayag Ngochua & Chu, a member firm of Mori Hamada). It also has offices in Singapore (the firm’s ASEAN hub), Shanghai and Beijing. In September 2023, the firm opened an office in New York through which it will further bolster its relationships with peer firms and clients in the US and the broader Americas, and provide them with efficient access to the firm’s Japan and ASEAN network.

■Represents Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) in its capital and business alliance agreement between MUFG Bank and Wealth Navi, Inc. worth over JPY 15.6 billion.

■Represents Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank to establish a trust with loan receivables from Sony Bank as trust assets, and with the beneficiary rights of the trust tokenised and sold by Sony Bank through a public offering (STOs).

■Represents AirWallex, a Singapore-based global provider of international payment solutions, on its registration application for providing fund transfers, the expansion of its existing services, and the handling of litigation and disputes.

■Represents G.U. technologies Inc., a technology developer, to enable regulated financial institutions to issue stable coins under Japan’s newly introduced stable coins regulation.
