About

Provided by Mori Hamada

Our strong cross-practice FinTech team leverages its deep roots in technology and financial services regulatory law, as well as intellectual property, in order to provide comprehensive, integrated and credible FinTech legal services to a wide array of incumbents, traditional players, disruptors, collaborators and start-ups.

Mori Hamada has also launched the MH FinTech Platform initiative, where it leverages the firm’s existing client base (i.e., traditional FIs and insurers as well as non-financial companies) and connects with MH’s start-up team clients, to generate new business and secure investments, not merely help start-ups obtain licences and build their financial services.

Our firm boasts multiple FinTech team members who have served in senior positions within regulatory and governmental agencies, including the Financial Services Agency of Japan and the Bank of Japan. This experience enables our team to provide practical, actionable advice that pre-empts regulatory concerns. Additionally, members of the firm have taken leadership positions in both industry and governmental bodies focused on the development of new industry standards and the shaping of emerging regulations, making our firm an active thought leader and contributor in the FinTech space.
