Mason Hayes & Curran boasts one of the most impressive Fintech teams in the Irish market.

Led by two of the leading practitioners in the Irish Fintech space, the Fintech team is at the forefront of Fintech advisory and transactional work in Ireland, providing pioneering advice on the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving area. The team is regularly called on to assist clients in navigating the complex interplay between technology, data protection and financial services regulation. The team offers global experience coupled with detailed industry insight, including in-house experience as well as working within the financial regulator, meaning the team is well-respected both in the Irish market and on the international stage.

The team’s practice is divided into five main areas of focus:

  • Fintech and payments
  • InsurTech
  • Financial services outsourcing
  • Financial services privacy
  • Artificial intelligence

Working on an array of high-profile mandates from its existing clients on technological developments in financial services has allowed the team to expand its working relationship with them. The team continues to grow and the scale and range of the practice is illustrated by the impressive list of clients, ranging from fast-scaling disruptive Fintech firms to some of the world’s best-known financial institutions.

The team is also actively involved in, each of the Banking & Payments Federation of Ireland (BPFI), the Fintech and Payments Association of Ireland (FPAI) and Insurance Ireland. Importantly, Insurance Ireland represents 95% of the Irish domestic insurance market and 80% of Ireland’s international life insurance market. The BPFI, the FPAI and Insurance Ireland act as the principal voices of the Fintech, banking, payments and insurance industries in Ireland, so the team’s membership provides each of the team members the ability to engage in industry discussions on issues impacting the operating environment. These memberships also ensure the team is up to date on developments at all times.
