The firm’s dynamic litigation team (Jerina Zapanti, Alexandros Tsagkalidis, Ioannis Tsakalis, Ioannis Tolakis, Ioanna Anastasopoulou) is led by Ilias Anagnostopoulos, an authority in business crime defence with a strong academic background according to Chambers Europe and Who’s Who Legal. Ilias is a professor emeritus of criminal law at the School of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens; as of 2013 he chairs the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association and is a member of the High Legal-Council with the Bank of Greece.

  • Sucessfully advised represented the CEO of Globo plc, a formerly AIM-listed company, in extradition, MLA, and civil proceedings initiated by the FCA on insider trading, false finacial statements and fraud charges (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Jerina Zapanti).
  • Sucessfully represented GF, a former CFO with DePuy Ltd., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in appellate proceedings on charges of bribery, aggravated fraud and money laundering in connection with alleged bribery practices to healthcare professionals in Greece (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Ioannis Tolakis).
  • Sucessfully represented LP, chair of a leading brokerage firm, before the Court of Appeal Athens sitting as a first instance court on charges of market abuse following an investigation by the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission in connection with a capital increase of National Bank of Greece at the Athens Stock Exchange (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Jerina Zapanti).
  • Sucessfully represented SJN before the Patras Court of Appeal sitting as a first instance extradition chamber in extradition proceedings upon request from the U.S. on charges of fraud against the US, wire fraud, and money laundering (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Alexandrtos Tsagkalidis).
  • Represented ZA, a former Julius Baer officer, in ongoing trial proceedings before the Court of Appeal Athens sitting as a first instance court on charges of bribery and money laundering in connection with the puichase of military equipment by the Hellenic Ministry of Defence (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Ioannis Tsakalis).
  • Sucessfully represented GL, former chair and artistic director of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, on charges of breach of trust and financial mismanagement charges before the Court of Appeal Athens sitting as a first instance court (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Garyfalia Gianni).
  • Advised and represented NK, a prominent media producer and publisher, in an ongoing investigation by the Athens Prosecutor for Economic Crimes on allegations of tax fraud and money laundering (Ilias Anagnostopoulos and Padelis Bratis).
