Ioannis Tsakalis

Practice Areas

Ioannis is a partner with Anagnostopoulos. His practice focuses on tax fraud, money laundering, corrupt practices, cartel offences, financial fraud, procurement fraud, and business crimes.

Ioannis advises represents corporates and individuals in a variety of matters. As a litigator he often participates in complex trials with cross-border aspects.

Ioannis has experience in corporate internal investigations and regularly offers training in corpotate compliance, AML and ATF policies.

Career

Ioannis studied at the School of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (JD, 2009, LL.M. in Criminal Law, 2011).

In 2020 he acquired a Dr. juris degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich on a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation.

Ioannis’s dissertation on the relation between tax evasion and money laundering was awarded the 2020 Prize of the LMU Faculty of Law and was published by Nomos Verlag, 2022.

Ioannis is a member of the Athens Bar, the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association, the Hellenic Criminal Law Society, and the Compliance Association of Greece (SEKASE).
