Corporate/M&A in Malaysia Legal Rankings

Ranking Tables

The Corporate/M&A chapter in Malaysia includes coverage of both M&A and Equity Capital Markets work, with separate law firm and individual practitioner rankings for both practice areas. The Corporate/M&A section especially focuses on M&A work, including company acquisitions and disposals, as well as joint ventures and corporate restructuring mandates. Private equity transactions and corporate governance are also considered.

The Corporate/Commercial: Equity Capital Markets section covers any equity offering transactions, including Initial Public Offerings, as well as rights offerings, follow-on issuances and block trades. These can be issued in Malaysia or on other stock exchanges in the region.

Our rankings for Corporate/M&A continue to expand, with 21 law firm departments and 29 individual practitioners ranked. We also recognise 9 law firm departments and 9 individual practitioners for Equity Capital Markets expertise.

Whilst corporate investor confidence was affected in early 2020 by a combination of factors, including the global oil price downturn and the change in government, as well as the onset of COVID-19, there have still been deals ongoing in Malaysia and, going into 2021, we continue to keep abreast of the emergence of key sectors such as technology, healthcare and renewable energy.
