Yuriy specialises in international trade law with a particular focus on trade protection measures (i.e., anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, safeguard investigations) involving exporters from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Georgia.
With 20 years of experience, Yuriy has been involved in over 100 trade defence proceedings representing clients from various industries in the EU as well as in numerous foreign jurisdictions (Brazil, Turkey, Taiwan, Eurasian Economic Union, Ukraine, etc.).
He regularly represents key CIS exporters in EU anti-dumping proceedings concerning a wide variety of products including tubes, ferrous alloys, steel, chemicals and fertilizers. He also represents exporters in trade defence proceedings initiated by the Customs Union of Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia and Ukraine.
In recent years, Yuriy has been involved in high-profile investigations in the steel sector (including safeguard cases in the EU, Turkey, EAEU and the Gulf Cooperation Council) as well as in the very first anti-dumping investigation (transition review, TR001) initiated by the UK Trade Remedies Authority.

Joined Van Bael & Bellis in 2000, became a Partner in 2010.
