One of only few barristers specialising in both complex finance and children proceedings, particularly international cases, as well as welfare and financial issues relating to vulnerable adults in the Court of Protection. An expert in forum, jurisdiction and international disputes – child abduction, relocation, international maintenance issues and private international law. Has advised on English/EU law in European jurisdictions and elsewhere, and has provided expert evidence to the Supreme Court of New York, USA, and appeared in court in Portugal as an expert witness. Recent cases: G v G (Supreme Court, 2021 – interplay between the 1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention and the Refugee Convention), Re X (Court of Appeal, 2021 – interplay between Brussels II revised and the 1996 Hague Convention), Haley v Haley (Court of Appeal, 2020 – appeals against arbitral awards in financial remedy proceedings).
