William K. (Bill) VanCanagan is a Shareholder in the law firm of Datsopoulos, MacDonald & Lind, P.C. Bill attended Stanford University where he received his B.A. degree in Economics. Bill earned his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law in 1981. Following law school, he attended the Graduate Federal Tax Program at Boston University where he obtained his Master of Legal Letters degree in Federal Taxation.
Bill advises clients in the area of business organizations including organization, structuring and choice of business entities, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings and federal and state securities law. His law practice involves the preparation and structuring of operating agreements, shareholder agreements and limited partnership agreements, buyout agreements and compensation arrangements. He also counsels businesses of all sizes and varieties with regard to structuring debt and equity financings. He has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and business reorganizations. Bill also advises businesses with regard to operations, management and long term strategic and financial planning. He also provides advice and guidance with respect to federal and state securities regulation.
