Wei Lih is the managing partner and founder of Wei Lih Ho & Co., a member firm of Deloitte Legal network, which comprises more than 2,500 legal professionals in more than 75 countries. Prior to setting up Wei Lih Ho & Co., Wei Lih was a Partner for more than 9 years in a leading Malaysian law firm where she headed its China Practice Group.
Wei Lih represents private equity funds and multinational corporations as lead counsel in transactions spanning the ASEAN region. Her advisory roles are extensive, ranging from private investments in public equity, privatisations to acquisitions and disposals of companies and businesses spanning a broad spectrum of industries, in Malaysia and the region. She also regularly advises foreign clients and firms on cross-border corporate transactions and restructuring. In addition, she advises high net worth individuals and business families on inter-generational wealth transfer, asset protection, family governance and business succession.
Known for her extensive experience and innovative deals in sectors such as technology, education, energy, healthcare, and property development, Wei Lih has developed a solid reputation for her exceptional skills in aligning clients' needs with tailored solutions. Her ability to provide customised legal strategies has earned her acclaim from industry peers, as acknowledged by Asian Legal Business (ALB). Being part of Deloitte’s network, Wei Lih is now better equipped to develop holistic solutions for complex legal challenges with multi-disciplinary perspectives.
Graduating with a first-class honours degree in law from Birmingham University (UK), Wei Lih completed a Master of Laws in Corporate & Commercial Law from University College London. She is currently undertaking her Master of Business Administration (MBA) studies with the University of Nottingham on a part-time basis.
Wei Lih is ranked for her Corporate and M&A work in Chambers Global/Asia Pacific and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and is recognised as Highly Regarded in Corporate and M&A work in IFLR1000. In 2022, she was named in The A-List Malaysia’s Top 100 lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal. In 2023, she has been recognised in Who’s Who Legal Southeast Asia 2023 Guide for Mergers & Acquisitions.
