Walker San Miguel has been practicing law since 1988, when he joined the Bar Association of La Paz, Bolivia. He has specialised in Administrative Law, practising in this legal area, teaching as a professor in prestigious universities and publishing specialised books and articles. Within the vast field of this discipline he has focused on administrative contracting, contentious-administrative law, and the system of concessions and easements.

In 2012 he started his activity in San Miguel Abogados Soc. Civ., as founding partner and current director, he affirms that the firm has established itself as one of the most important in Bolivia, as they have top-level professionals in various specialties and offices in the cities of La Paz, Santa Cruz, Sucre and Tarija.

He has been director and trustee of industrial, air, railway and cable transport companies. He is an arbitrator in the most important arbitration centres in Bolivia, and has a Master's Degree in Commercial and Investment Arbitration from the University of Alcalá de Henares. The law firm he leads represents domestic and international arbitration proceedings and advises important companies in the industrial, financial, insurance, hydrocarbons, mining and digital services sectors with activities in Bolivia.

He was elected President of La Paz Bar Association (2003-2006) and Vice-President of the Bolivian National Bar Association (2005-2006). He is currently president of the Bolivian Institute of Arbitration and Conciliation and a member of the advisory group of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on issues related to Latin American integration.

He was also Minister of State, Ambassador of Bolivia to the Republic of Chile and Secretary General of the Andean Community (CAN), an integration body that brings together Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. He has written several articles on Public and Private International Law, which have been published in written and digital media. Last October he was admitted to the prestigious Instituto Hispano Luso Americano de Derecho Internacional (IHLADI).
