Career

With more than 20 years of experience, Undine von Diemar advises clients across all industry sectors on their most critical data protection matters, including incident response and subsequent litigation, internal investigations, international data transfers, and global compliance projects. She represents clients in proceedings before data protection authorities and has a strong track record advising clients on data and cybersecurity issues in M&A transactions.

Undine advises clients on the new EU data and cybersecurity regulations, including the Data Act (DA), Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the Network Information Security Directive 2 (NIS 2). Advising on technology transactions and sourcing projects, particularly in the context of cloud computing, artificial intelligence and high performance computing (HPC) technologies, is another cornerstone of her practice.

Among the clients that Undine is advising are well-known international technology companies, such as SAP, WiseTech Global, BlackBerry and Recorded Future, globally acting semiconductor companies as well as banks, FinTech and life science companies. Undine is also advising ICANN in Europe and globally.

She leads Jones Day's German and European Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice.
