Trevor Mascarenhas is a highly experienced disputes lawyer. For over 20 years as a partner of the now pre-eminent civil fraud and asset recovery firm, he has been entrusted by clients to lead substantial, difficult and sensitive disputes. By combining creativity and detailed legal knowledge, Trevor finds solutions where others have failed.
His cases usually involve complex jurisdictional issues, allegations of serious wrongdoing, and pushing legal boundaries to achieve results for clients. He has the leading judgments on alternative service overseas and on cross-examination on asset disclosure. He also established the jurisdiction of the English Court to grant search orders against third parties.
The major directories recognise Trevor as a leading disputes lawyer: he is a “thought leader” for litigation and asset recovery, is ranked as a leading individual in civil fraud, asset recovery and commercial litigation, and is recommended for banking litigation. In 2019, he won the Client Choice Award for arbitration in the UK, demonstrating his all-round strength in commercial disputes.
After graduating from Cambridge in mathematics and from London in law, Trevor joined what is now PCB Byrne as a trainee in 1998. He qualified in September 2000, before becoming a partner in April 2003.
