Immigration: Having practised Immigration, Asylum, and Nationality Law for over two decades, Tony is recognised to be an expert in this specialism and has appeared in cases at all levels, including the European Courts and the Supreme Court. Tony leads the immigration team and represents claimants and the Home Office. In addition to his demanding Business Immigration practice, Tony is an expert in civil penalty appeals. He has retainers with several multinational tech and publicly-trading companies and persons of very High Net-Worth to provide legal services.
Public Law: Tony’s reported cases are some of the leading judgments in Administrative Law. He continues to found his practice on a strong sense of social justice, appearing in cases where the rights of the individual are in issue. Where justice demands, Tony readily accepts pro-bono instruction, including regular referrals from the Bar Council’s Advocate Scheme. He accepts instructions in a wide range of cases with an overarching emphasis on human rights and has a keen interest in the protection of the rights to private and family life and the freedom of religion and expression, particularly in disputes involving discrimination issues.
Civil Law: Tony has successfully appeared in the Business and Property Courts in large commercial contract dispute claims. He continues to accept civil instructions in specialist cases including those raising issues under the Equality Act and Discrimination, Data Protection, Housing Disrepair and Actions against the Police. Despite being off-panel, Tony regularly represents the Government Legal Department and the Department for Work and Pensions.
