Thomas Moran is a partner in the litigation and disputes group, with a litigation and advisory practice that spans most aspects of commercial and corporate law. His litigation practice focuses on trial, arbitration, hearing and appeal work in a broad range of commercial matters, including cases relating to real estate ventures, complex M&A transactions, and disputes involving forestry law and other natural resource matters. Thomas also has significant experience with the law of defamation and has been counsel in complex civil fraud claims, corporate disputes at both the board and shareholder level, and disputes involving partnerships and joint ventures. In addition, he acts for clients such as TELUS on injunction and other applications in connection with a variety of matters, including advertising and competition law issues. Thomas has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada and all levels of Court in British Columbia.
Thomas is actively involved in professional development both within the firm and in the legal community. He is the former chair of the Civil Litigation Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association in Vancouver, and has presented lectures on legal issues for lawyers and other professionals on a range of topics, including damages and other contract and tort law issues.
