Thomas Moran

Thomas is a partner in the Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations group based in Vancouver. He advises clients on complex commercial disputes, with a practice focused on litigation, arbitration, injunctions, trials and appeals.

Thomas acts for public and private companies, financial institutions, investors, boards and business owners in high-stakes matters involving corporate governance, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, contractual disputes and contentious M&A-related claims. He is recognized for his strategic, business-oriented approach and is frequently retained in disputes involving significant financial, reputational or operational risk.

His experience includes disputes arising from real estate and development projects, joint ventures, private equity and investment structures, forestry and natural resources, technology commercialization, and other complex commercial relationships. He regularly advises clients on urgent and business-critical matters, including injunctions, emergency applications and strategic pre-litigation risk management.

Thomas has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada and all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as before arbitral tribunals and administrative decision-makers. He has extensive hearing and trial experience in complex commercial matters and is valued by clients for combining strong advocacy with pragmatic, business-focused judgment.
