Thomas Liebscher

Thomas Liebscher practices in the areas of corporate law, the law of groups of companies and M&A. He represents clients before state courts and arbitral tribunals; he also serves as an arbitrator. His mandates include defending VW and Bayer against shareholder claims; representation of Qimonda AG in a multi-billion dollar dispute; representation of Mr Jaffé in his capacity as liquidator of the assets of Wirecard AG.

Thomas joined SZA in 1993. Previously, he worked as a partner at Shearman & Sterling (2000 – 2008). Thomas is a lecturer at various law faculties. In 2019, he was appointed honorary professor at Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg.

Member of the VGR (an association for business and corporate law); member of DJT (Ger-man lawyers' association); member of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS); expert com-mission on the modernisation of Germany's laws on partnerships by the Federal Government

Thomas is author of numerous publications, in particular on corporate and group law, e.g. Münchener Kommentar zum GmbHG; Reichert, GmbH & Co. KG, Henssler/Strohn, Kom-mentar zum Gesellschaftsrecht, Happ, Konzern- und Umwandlungsrecht, Semler/Volhard/Reichert, Arbeitshandbuch für die Hauptversammlung, Beck'sches Handbuch der AG; his latest publication is about the KapMuG proceedings.
