Thomas Bouvet has close to 30 years’ experience in IP law involving patents, trade secrets and plant variety rights. He has worked as lead trial counsel on numerous high-profile infringement, nullity or entitlement matters in almost all fields of technology, including life sciences (drugs, biotechnologies, diagnostics, medical devices), chemistry and electronics (including in relation to standard essential patents), as well as transportation, construction, mechanics, consumer and leisure goods – most of them with a cross-border dimension, and often handled with other Jones Day IP teams. Thomas represented clients in French national courts, in the UPC, and up to the CJEU on SPC and PVR issues. He litigated some of the most important trade secret violation matters. He regularly assists clients in setting up trade secret and employee inventions policies and in the negotiation of technology transfer agreements. He works with his experienced team of associates, legal economists and graphic designers, and with the technical support of Jones Day’s EPO team of patent attorneys.
