Practice Areas

Susie advises trustees and employers on all matters relating to their pension arrangements. She has advised the trustees of some of the UK's largest pension schemes. Her practice includes advising on a broad range of issues, from funding investment and security, governance and compliance, member issues, benefit changes, scheme restructuring and helping trustees respond to corporate activity (including distress and insolvency). Susie also has significant experience advising trustees and insurers on risk transfer transactions.

Susie is a significant contributor to the wider industry. She is a longstanding member of the Legislative and Parliamentary Committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers and regularly engages with government and regulatory stakeholders in relation to industry developments, most recently in relation to the abolition of the Lifetime Allowance and the new provisions bringing certain pension death benefits within the scope of IHT.

Susie recently spoke at the PMI Defined Benefit Pensions Conference 2026 on the legal and strategic considerations for allocation of pension scheme surpluses.
