Sunny Handa

Practice Areas

Sunny is a Partner and National Practice Group Leader of the Firm's Technology and Communications Law groups. He has a substantial practice in mergers & acquisitions of technology companies and advises clients on transactional and regulatory matters relating to information technology and electronic commerce, intellectual property, communications (telecommunications and broadcasting) and defence.

Sunny is a senior partner and breach coach in Blakes cybersecurity practice which is the largest in the country. He leads organizations through three stages of cybersecurity: cyber preparedness, incident response and post breach resolution work. He works closely with boards and leadership teams across various Canadian companies and organizations in guiding them through the complex challenges of cybersecurity which represents enterprise, and not simply technological, risk.

Career

Sunny is a professor of law (adj.) at McGill University, where he has been teaching since 1994/95.
