Stephen Shapiro was appointed Group General Counsel at Barclays in 2020. He joined the bank from SABMiller, and prior to that was a private-practice lawyer at Hogan Lovells in the UK. In his capacity as group general counsel, he is responsible for the bank's global legal team, handling complex regulatory matters, among other legal issues.
