Resident in Thailand since 1994, Stephen is head of the Asia Corporate Team at Hunton. He has more than 25 years of practice experience in Thailand in mergers and acquisitions, finance, fintech, foreign investment, and telecommunications, and has completed some of the largest M&A transactions in Thailand. Before joining Hunton, Stephen was a partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
In the last 12 months, he has represented SDIC Mining on its acquisition of a controlling interest in the largest potash mine in Thailand in Udon Thani Province, advised ZF Friedrichshafen AG/ ZF Automotive Safety Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. on the multi-billion dollar spin-off of its passive safety systems division to ZF Passive Safety Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (ZF LIFETEC), represented Tencent Holdings Limited and Tencent Music Entertainment (together, the Tencent Group) in the purchase of 10 percent of the total issued and paid-up ordinary shares of GMM Music Public Company Limited, represented BP Plc on the sale of its lubricants business in Thailand carried on by BP Oil (Thailand) Limited, advising KKR on the the sale of Singapore-based Goodpack in a deal that could value the provider of shipping containers and logistics services at around US$1.8 billion, advised Petrofac Limited its business restructuring, refinancing and potential debt to equity conversion, and acted as local counsel to Yokohama Rubber on its acquisition of Goodyear’s Off-the-Road (OTR) tire business for $905 million.
